Üzümlü is a settlement that bears the characteristics of Fethiye within itself. These include its natural formations and beauties. A great majority of local people living in this town economically rely on agriculture, weaving, vegetable gardening and small scale home-made wine production.
The land is highly fertile, which makes it available for agricultural activities. The pinewoods cover all over the landscape around Üzümlü. It has rich vegetation, including some endemic species like Anatolian orchids. Üzümlü is famous for its mushrooms. Mushroom collection season lasts almost eight months. In the early days of April, a local festival is organised every year. This festival is called “Morel Mushroom Festival” locally. Should you choose the right time for your travel to this lovely town, you can closely see a number of mushroom species and enjoy the festival.
Cadianda, an ancient Lycian city, is located at the top of a hillside, which is 7 kilometres off the city centre. We kindly recommend it for the visitors.
